Overview: Alex Watkins is a computer hacker, who just happens to work for the federal government. On her current assignment, she has to investigate a military contract that is suspicious. The contract is with a nearby company, Innovative Diagnostics, who develops containers and formulas of gasses or liquids that go inside the containers for the medical community. The question is why would the military do business with a company like that? And, what is the company supposed to make for the military? Add to that situation is the fact that the contract was issued two weeks ago. Has the contract already been fulfilled? That is what she needs to find out.

Then, to make the case more interesting, her boss assigns her a partner, Mike Hannon. She does not want a partner, but her boss wants her protected, so she has no choice. Mike takes his job seriously. More than Alex wants. When she researches the company, she finds nothing. So, she makes a trip to visit the company to see what is going on. What she finds is that the company name has changed to Triangle Diagnostics. A visit to the courthouse tells her, not only when the change of ownership was, but also who owns it now. A partnership with no names of its members.

Alex is now more intent on getting into the computer system. When she does, she searches for anything regarding the military contact and what they are making for them. She finds nothing on the military contract, but what she does find is an email sent by one man, Phil Abrahamson, who mentions in the email about three men’s funerals, nine days prior. When she gets into Abrahamson’s computer, she finds something that should not be there. Attached to his computer is a remote router. Then a message goes into Abrahamson’s computer, through the remote router and goes out from there. This sends Alex on another search. She follows the router signal and finds it goes to two more routers. One, not far from Washington and the other is in Los Angeles, which sends the email message out of the country. Alex wonders if this has anything to do with the military contract. Can she find out want is going on with the routers and what country the emails are going to. Does the deaths of the three men have anything to do with the military contract? The further she goes into this investigation, the more she knows something bad is going to happen. Can she stop what she finds from happening?
